Few writers would create a character without any positive qualities and dare you to find something likeable. Leroy ‘Leo’ Flicker is such a character. Leo has had a difficult childhood as a result of a flea-circus-obsessed father and a weak-willed mother, Mira. A portion of Leo’s suffering history is revealed through a series of drug-induced flashbacks. These flashbacks range from the comically tragic to the bizarre. One bright memory is when Mira gives him a trumpet. However, his first performance gig taints this memory when she appears, in the flesh, as a stripper! Lady Luck provides Leo with an opportunity to begin something positive in his life. The big question: does Leo take advantage of the situation, or will he continue to fall down?
