From 1986 until 1992, First Comics and Dark Horse were honored to be the publishers of the works of Eric Shanower—five graphic novels continuing ideas and concepts originally introduced by L. Frank Baum nearly one hundred years earlier beginning with the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. To say Shanower’s work was good was an understatement. The series won the Parent’s Choice Award and Shanower himself received the Russ Manning Award.

Today, IDW has collected the five stories into a 256 page trade edition. Original art was re-scanned and colors improved, making this a must-have for any Oz fan. This one volume features, “The Enchanted Apples of Oz”, “The Secret Island of Oz”, “The Ice King of Oz”, “The Forgotten Forest of Oz”, and “The Blue Witch of Oz.”
