Greykell is a woman without a country, the last survivor of a nation torn asunder—and then destroyed—by a century-long war. Now she hides out on the outskirts of civilization, trying to forget the past, surviving as best she can. But the past has a way of catching up to you, and when you’re as powerful as Greykell is, you can’t deny that strength for long. Finally accepting her strange and awesome abilities, will she now use it to save her people from the evil Karrns, and save her world?

There are familiar storytelling elements here (one woman chosen to be the savior, a hundred years of war, etc.), but it’s compelling enough that you’ll find yourself going along for the ride. It’s written by Keith Baker and drawn—quite beautifully—by Chris Lie.
