Thieves

Sacramento, California-based Silverwolf comics produced this, as well as nearly twenty other titles during the black-and-white boom of the mid 1980s. “Thieves” was the codename for a group of super-powered government operatives. The team, consisted of super-powered Earthlings Alex Torres and Diana Jennings, and the vaguely reptilian alien Rhan. These three had formerly been joined by teammates Stetch and Lance as the Eradicators. The latter two members eventually left for solo adventures and the government asked the remaining three to work for them. Thus “Thieves” was born.

In its first mission, the team is sent to steal secret papers from a renegade group known as S.O.U.R.C.E. The team succeeds, only to find that the papers it stole had been a ruse. It was then sent back to steal the true papers, but instead walked into a trap—and a huge armored assassin named Guillotine!
