The Hammer: Uncle Alex

™ and © Dark Horse Comics, Inc.

Dana is a mean, deceitful teenager who is hated by her classmates. When she and another girl are fighting in woods over some of Dana’s fabrications they encounter an evil entity. After the creature gruesomely devours the girl Dana is fighting, he introduces himself as Uncle Alex. Dana strikes a bargain to bring Uncle Alex more victims in return for his protection. Dana hates a lot of people so this will not be a problem. Fortunately The Hammer has become aware of Alexander East, one of the most vile men to ever live on this plane, and soon he and his friend Carl are on the trail.

This book is a stand-alone title featuring Kelley Jones’ creator-owned character, The Hammer, an alien warrior who has possessed Professor Malleus. Comparisons to Mike Mignola’s Hellboy come naturally since both characters seem grounded with down-to-earth sensibilities in the midst of weird occult-based monstrosities.
