Calling to mind early Heavy Metal and the Hernandez brothers’ Mister X series, Caligari 2050 is a dense and gothic mystery set in a dystopian future. Owing much to the film noir use of shadows and corrupt characters, the story follows a group plotting the perfect city, free of crime, trouble and dissent. Why does the mysterious Caesar kill members of the group? What is his connection to the all-important Sigmark brain-wave stimulator?

Written and drawn by Ken Holewczynski (former letterer for GrimjacK) for the Monster Comics imprint, Caligari may appeal to fans of thought-provoking indie comics like Lucifer and Books of Magic.
