If you’re a fan of Michael Allred but only know him from his offbeat enigmatic character, Madman, you should meet the rest of the iceberg. Admittedly, Madman is Allred’s most well known character, but he has a plethora of other work and creations that he brings to the light of day in this admittedly self-indulgent 4-issue retrospective. Part scrapbook, part autobiography, this encyclopedia of all-things Allred has a great amount of hard-to-read text from interviews and letters. The casual fan will most likely skim those parts, but hard core fans will delight in his personal revelations.
