Gasp! (Quebecor)

    (Quebecor, 1994)
Titles are ™ and ©1994 their respective creators. Cover ©1992 its creator.

Despite its shocking cover, Gasp! is no horror anthology. It’s a sampler of some of the finest independent titles being published today, sponsored by Quebecor (Ronalds), probably the largest comic book printer in North America.

This giant-sized edition contains brief stories and previews from Buck Godot, Zap Gun for Hire (from sexy humorist Phil Foglio); Don Simpson’s Bizarre Heroes; Barry Blair’s elf saga Elflord; the Harwells’ Greymatter; Drew Hayes’ Poison Elves; Rick Veitch’s dream diary Rare Bit Fiends; Cohen and Sherman’s space opera Strange Attractors; Terry Moore’s Strangers in Paradise; Steve Bisette’s dinosaur epic Tyrant; Christy and Mitchell’s Very Vicky; Teri S. Wood’s acclaimed Wandering Star; and Batton Lash’s Wolff & Byrd, Counselors of the Macabre (among others!). Although these short pieces can’t really do them justice, they at least act as introductions to these innovative titles.
