Dead of Night

™ and ©1973 Marvel Characters, Inc.

Dead of Night was a deservedly obscure horror/mystery title from Marvel in the mid-1970s. It featured a mix of reprints of old Atlas monster stories from Strange Tales, Tales of Suspense and others, including many by Bill Everett, Steve Ditko, and Dick Ayers, plus new stories by artists and writers Marvel may have been trying out for other, more visible assignments. Issue #11 featured the debut of the Scarecrow, a weird mystery hero who later went on to headline in Marvel Chillers.
