“Mush you huskies!” was the exclamation that signaled that Royal Canadian Mounted Policeman, Sergeant Preston was hot on the trail of fur thieves, claim jumpers or some other scoundrels of the frozen north. Portrayed on television by Richard Simmons, (no, not THAT Richard Simmons!), Sergeant Preston was the representative of Her Majesty’s justice in the Yukon Territory in the 1890s. He was aided in his mission (and often rescued), by his husky, Yukon King. During the short Canadian summer, Preston traded his dog sled for his horse, Rex, but Yukon King was a constant companion regardless of the season. This western in winter clothing was a popular television show from 1955 to 1958 and spawned this comic from Dell featuring photo covers of the robust Mountie.
