Ralph Snart Adventures (Vol. 5)

    (Now, 1993)
™ and ©1993 Now Comics, Created by Marc Hansen

After the uneven Ralph Snart: The Lost Issues, original creator Marc Hansen returned to bring readers this new series. Ralph Snart Adventures is an off-the-wall, slightly manic funnybook where no premise is too topical or too silly. In it, for instance, you’ll see runty loser Ralph Snart transformed into an overly brawny mutant as part of an alien plot to take over the world. In most self-respecting comics the aliens would then plan to eat the humans, or at least force them into concentration camps, after conquering the planet—not here. Instead, they plan to get the humans really, really fat, then make “Lipohol, a human fat-based and intoxicating beverage” and get really loaded.

And who is here to save us? None other than Gloomsday (a terrible takeoff on Superman’s nemesis, Doomsday) and President Clinton’s family cat, Socks.
