Groovy

Kind of a strange one, especially for Marvel Comics, who at the time was trying some new things and reaching out to new audiences with comic books like the one that included a parody of their own books with Not Brand Ecch. Groovy featured “hip” single panel cartoon gags, the kind you’d find later on in magazines like National Lampoon, though not as raunchy. Obviously trying for a more sophisticated audience, Groovy was one of the few Marvel Comics at the time that did not feature the Comic Code seal of approval.
