It’s 1963 and, shortly after his release from jail, small-time crook and full-time patsy Connie Bremen is contacted by a former cellmate with an offer of work. He has moved to Texas and has been given a job guarding the promiscuous daughter of a local businessman. It gradually dawns on Bremen that he’s there for a reason. Yup, it’s Kennedy shooting time in Dallas. Considering that the assassination shaped the American psyche, astonishingly few comic stories have used it, even as a touchstone for the times. Steven Grant and Vince Giarrano weave a compelling story around a man no longer in control of his destiny, but about to change the destiny of a nation. ~WJ
