Spider-Man: The Jackal Files

The Spider-Man clone storyline is one of the most polarizing and controversial plot devices in the web slinger’s long history. It occurred to the editors of the Spider-Man group that a Who’s Who of key characters was in order, since it was getting increasingly harder to keep it all straight. Thus was born The Jackal Files. This one-shot offers numerous one-page biographies of the cast of Spidey characters up to that point, including Scarlet Spider, Kaine, Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson, and most of the popular villains, including Venom and Carnage. The information is relayed as data being downloaded into the brain of yet another Peter Parker clone produced by the evil scientist Jackal. If you collected the clone storyline, you’ll probably want to make sure this is part of your collection. If nothing else, the book features some nifty art by the likes of George Perez (New Teen Titans, Avengers), Mark Buckingham (Miracleman), and Michael Bair (Vampirella).
