The initial offering in “The One-Shot Club,” this book from writer Andy Winter and artist Declan Shalvey takes a look at a group of mercenary, super-powered assassins who specialize in providing criminals with safe havens free of superheroes. The British creative team takes a somewhat wry, dissecting look at superhero conventions. Publisher Moonface Press conceived the book as the first in a series of self-contained tales with definite endings. In a note to readers, the writer hints that future “Club” offerings will take on the spy, horror, and sports genres.
