Lone Racer

™ and © Top Shelf

This is the story of a previously successful auto racer who is now past his prime and spends most of his time sitting in Bar Juanjo drinking away his memories and past glories with his friend Rubber. It looks like a cross between Randall Enos’ Chicken Gutz comic strip from the old National Lampoon and Jay Ward’s Tom Slick or Hanna-Barbera’s Wacky Races. This off-beat graphic novel is self-contained and funny if a bit quirky in places.
