Fireblast, Adventures in the 30th Century

Mack Fire is private investigator in the 30th century. He loses at chess to his computer-generated holographic assistant, Perfecta, who seems to have developed a more than business-like attachment to her boss. Before he went into the private-eye business he was a commander in the military. He left due under mysterious circumstances but still maintains contacts within the fleet. His cases are the stuff of traditional private-eye stories, with only the window dressing of holograms, spaceships and flying cars to give it a science fiction element. Buildings, clothes and furniture appear to be objects of the present day.
The plot is straightforward and serviceable but the dialogue, though natural, slows the pace of the plot. The art is static and stiff. Figures are not grounded, seem frozen in their space and often depicted in bizarre poses with open-mouthed expressions.
