Superman/Tarzan: Sons of the Jungle

    (Dark Horse, 2001–2002)
™ and ©2001 Dark Horse Comics and DC Comics and Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc.

Two of fiction’s most widely recognized characters finally team up in an unlikely Elseworlds tale told by writer Chuck Dixon (Batman) and artist Carlos Meglia. Here, Lord Greystoke and his pregnant wife find themselves delivered back to civilization after a meteor crashes near the site where mutineers were planning to set them adrift. Instead, the mutineers take the falling star as an omen to treat the Greystokes well. They return to England and the man who would be Tarzan is born into a world of luxury, a world in which he feels quite apart. Meanwhile, the meteor, as you probably guessed by now, turned out to be a spaceship containing a certain last son of Krypton who, in the place of Greystoke, is raised by apes to become a super-lord of the jungle. Eventually, his path will cross with that of the adrift young Greystoke, and when it does, the consequences are both unexpected and devastating.
