SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos

In a distant dimension that’s half twilight, half combat zone, and that transcends time and space, a challenge goes forth to the greatest fighters in the universe: Come to the ultimate martial arts championship to determine who truly is the greatest of them all. The only downside: You have to die to get there.

Hardcore super–hero fanboys are likely to be indifferent to this one, but for the intended audience of fighting–game fanatics, this is like a combination of Crisis on Infinite Earths and JLA vs. Avengers. Unlike those comics, there’s only the briefest vestige of a plot, so this incredibly diverse cast of characters (even Megaman Zero makes a cameo appearance) will have all the more room to beat each other down.

For the faithful, the only real question will be: How are the fights? They’re dandy, though some will question the outcomes. (Terry Bogard never even gets to lay a hand on M. Bison?) It has those lush Hong Kong art and coloring effects that bring the matches to life.
