With a title that means “spell” in Italian, this book from Frank Santoro invites readers to fall under its magic. Using only amorphous, squiggly lines and shapes and a limited color palette, Santoro creates a surreal, dream-like experience that doesn’t fall into any easy category. Readers will likely have to find their own meaning in these 48 pages that boast only orange, white, and aqua blue shades and a few words to process. Images of a horse seen from a rider’s point of view are the opening and closing shots as Santoro draws readers through a series of fluid images.
