Wonder Man (2nd Series)

Simon Williams, who first appeared in The Avengers #9, was a misguided youth who was recruited by Baron Zemo and the Masters of Evil. He agreed to be a subject for an ionic ray experiment that would give him his extraordinary strength, earning the name Wonder Man. Although initially working for the Masters of Evil, Wonder Man would turn against them in the heat of battle, saving the Avengers. However, due to a side-effect of Zemo’s treatments, Wonder Man eventually fell ill and went into a death-like coma. It was only years later that he would truly live again.

In this, his first solo title, Wonder Man has scaled back on his super-hero involvement in order to try launching an acting career. Even so, he still fights crime as a member of the West Coast Avengers.
