The city of Macropolis has seven million inhabitants packed into a city that stands five miles high. Here, a killer named Paradox has slain dozens of people—all in a singularly grisly manner, leaving no clues behind other than a telltale symbol carved into the victims’ bodies. Agent Nagawa of the Special Investigations Unit, so far, has been unable to stop the killer, and has been assigned a new partner as a result: Agent Nakiko, a beautiful level-two cyborg. In addition to stunning physical attributes, Nakiko is an expert in psionic investigation. While her psychic abilities lead to some awkward moments (such as noting when her partner is ogling her), it gives her the unique ability to seek out the killer by reading the minds of his dead victims.

Dreamwave Productions introduced this title in 1998, successfully employing manga stylings in a high-tech, horror/thriller.
