The Dark Crystal

In 1983, Jim Henson, the man who introduced the Muppets to audiences everywhere, made the movie, “The Dark Crystal,” which featured some new Muppet creations. The movie was a huge hit, and in the same year Marvel adapted it in this two-issue comic series.

An evil race called the Skesis has wrestled control of the planet and it is up to two elflike creatures (Gelfings) to make things right. It is said that only a Gelfing can restore a broken piece of crystal to its original place. Once this is done, darkness will be crushed and good can take over the planet. The two Gelfings, Jen and Kira, must stop the Skesis from achieving their evil ends. In doing so, they meet a wide variety of bizarre creatures, some of which even join them on their quest.
