Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus

    (Marvel, 2007)
™ and © Marvel Characters, Inc.

In the wake of Marvel Comics’ 2006-2007 event Annihilation comes this follow-up series which takes a closer look at various servants of the world-devouring Galactus both past (Terrax, Firelord) and present (Stardust, Silver Surfer). Each story involves one of these characters dealing with the consequences of Annihilation; for example, the first story gives us Terrax, who, when we last saw him, was enslaved by Annihilus, Annihilation’s primary antagonist. Because of the anthology-like nature of the series, several teams of writers and artists are represented, although there is one artistic constant: the beautifully-painted covers of Gabriele Dell’Otto, best known for his work on Marvel’s Secret War. This series is tailor-made to anyone who enjoys Marvel’s more cosmic storylines, and serves as an excellent bridge between Annihilation and the upcoming Nova and Silver Surfer series.
