After the Cape

An alcoholic super-hero falls professionally and personally as he fails in his responsibilities to society and his family. He ends up pulling bank heists until his partners turn him over to a criminal kingpin who extorts his services. A good concept with fine writing by Howard Wong over a Jim Valentino plot. Marco Rudy’s chiaroscuro cover hints of Sin City, but settles on something more like AKA Goldfish with better sense of shape and shadow. It’s a good fit for the story, which could be a sleeper hit if it continues as strongly as it opens.
