What would a good heist movie be without a boatload of surprising twists? Much like, say, Reservoir Dogs or Smokin’ Aces, Boom! Studios’ 2 Guns plays a lot with what the audience doesn’t know.

The comic opens simply enough: two crooks plot a bank robbery. As the story progresses, allegiances shift (and then, maybe, shift back), new interpersonal connections are made, people die, and the government ends up being more deeply involved than anyone would have first suspected. All the classic tropes of the heist movie are here, and the sharp dialog from author Steven Grant (best known for penning the original Punisher mini-series) moves the story along at a quick and entertaining pace.
