Tales of the Crimson Lion
(Gary Lankford, 1987)
™ and ©1987 Gary Lankford
The Crimson Lion is King Garth Songuard, protector of the realm he won in battle from his evil barbarian father. Aided by his Merlin-like court wizard Starbolt, Vandal, the raccoon who walks (and talks) like a man, and Mindel the beautiful Elf princess, King Garth rides his unicorn into battle against goblins, trolls, and the evil forces that threaten his land. Because all good heroes need a quest, King Garth’s is for the Spirit Sword, a magical sword that will heal all wounds and make the wielder nigh unto invincible. And what fantasy king wouldn’t want that?
Written, drawn, and published by Gary Lankford, the Crimson Lion is inspired by Dungeons and Dragons as well as other medieval legends and role-playing games.
