On a typical summer morning in Chicago Detective Dick Urbanski is looking forward to quiet day off. But when he intervenes in a police shootout involving a mugger who seems to have absorbed the invulnerable properties of a concrete wall, his day off is over. The “Absorbing Man” doppelganger is only one of many mutations around the city that signify the beginning of a new, ominous chapter for mankind. Seemingly normal people inexplicably exhibiting amazing powers may evoke similarities to NBC’s hit series, Heroes, but these mutations are part of an alien invasion using germ warfare as in initial attack. Each of the affected individuals is shown to be affected by an alien microbe with a telltale sneeze that indicates their infection. Shortly after their sneeze they become something other than human. They become part of the Dominion.— George Haberberger
