This Archives edition is somewhat thicker than the average volume, as well as 50% more expensive. One might quibble that the added page count might be worth more like $60 or $65 than $75, but look at what readers get. This volume reprints New York World’s Fair Comics #1 and #2 (from 1939 and 1940, respectively) plus The Big All-American Comic Book. Any of those would cost in the tens of thousands of dollars to read, if one could even find them. Even a low-grade copy could cost more than $1,000. To get all three in one pristine package for a mere $75? That’s the bargain of the decade! So what’s in it? Everything! A disproportionate number of people, from Superman to Zatara, have adventures at the New York World’s Fair. Batman is on board, as are Wildcat, Little Boy Blue, Slam Bradley, and The Whip. There’s The Atom, Mutt and Jeff, The Ghost Patrol, Scribbly, and many, many more. There’s so much here a comics aficionado just can’t afford to miss.
