Tangent Comics/The Flash

    (DC, 1997)
™ and ©1997 DC Comics

During the last 50+ years, three different men have gone by the name of the Flash, all with the power of super-speed. What if someone else had used the name first, but created an entirely different character? Marvel’s What If…? and DC’s many Elseworlds specials have often presented established characters in different settings, but Tangent heroes are completely new except for the names.

Born in space, Lia Nelson is basically made of light. Always in the media spotlight, she quickly became the most popular child in America. As she grew, Lia’s public lifestyle just naturally put her in the role of a super-hero. Other than that, she’s your average Beverly Hills teenager. Her primary enemy is the covert group known as Nightwing. Unknown to Lia, her own father works for the group, though luckily he is not one of their most competent agents. A good thing, since his main job is to capture, or kill, his own daughter.
