John got up every morning, went to work everyday and came home every evening. His life was defined by inertia. He may not have been happy but be was good at his job, and besides, there was always tomorrow. Then his girlfriend left because he couldn’t commit to the relationship. Soon after he was diagnosed with cancer and he realized—now that he was losing it—that he had squandered his life. His epiphany led him to believe that he must spend the remainder of his existence making other realize how fleeting and valuable life is. It would be a torturous lesson for those he chose to teach. He would allow his victims a chance to survive if they were desperate enough.

This title was published in anticipation of the movie Saw II. It reveals the backstory of the demented killer named Jigsaw from the first movie, Saw.
