Cinderella Love

™ and ©1952 Ziff-Davis Publishing Company

As the popularity of super-hero comics was fading in the early 1950s, romance comics became very popular, especially among teenage girls. Virtually every major publisher was churning out romance comics, including Ziff-Davis, who gave us Cinderella Love. The incredibly melodramatic stories that filled the pages of this title most often dealt with the recognition of true love. Many times a man is involved with a woman who is obviously wrong for him, while another more good-hearted woman secretly pines away for him. In the end, he realizes where true feelings lie and goes to the woman with whom he belongs. All’s well that ends well, eh? Such was case with Cinderella Love. It should be noted that this series occasionally featured artwork by comics legends Matt Baker (Phantom Lady) and Reed Crandall (Blackhawk).
