Some new recruits join a tough troop of bug-battling soldiers in this debut of an ongoing series based on the sci-fi novels. There’s far too much backstory (and an expository prose intro) for a first issue, and the splash page designed to grab attention at the story’s beginning start deflates the tension of a struggle later in the story. But, hey, Chris DiBari’s art is expressive, and Tony Lee writes some good character moments in between technical setup of plot to come.
