Micronauts (Devil’s Due)
(Devil’s Due, 2004)
™ and © 2004 Takara LTD/A.G.E., Inc.
Licensed by Devil’s Due Publishing and helping to create a short-lived 80s nostalgia boom, the Micronauts were actually late 70s toys that initially fed off the popularity of Star Wars but eventually acquired a devout following of its own. And it was through Marvel Comics’ Micronauts titles that these miniature warriors found a substantial loyal crowd. Unfortunately, Devil’s Due wasn’t able to bring everybody back—just the ones Marvel borrowed from toy manufacturer Mego.
Banded together in a sub-atomic universe to stop the evil Baron Karza, the Micronauts eventually find themselves on Earth, just as in Marvel’s old series, and completely misunderstood by humans. To add to the 80s flashbacks, artwork is provided by early 80s Micronauts illustrator Pat Broderick.
