The immediacy of the Internet has rendered conventional comic book commentary publications obsolete. Or has it? Comics Comics doesn’t think so, and this big, sprawling, newspaper-sized publication aims to prove the validity of such publications on each page. Each issue features columns, commentary, and reviews of comic books both old and new, all in a low-tech, newsprint format that screams independent and influence-free—which is part of its appeal.

Peter Bagge talking about his Spider-Man one-shot from a few years earlier, various writers reviewing comics from 20 years earlier (Frank Miller’s Ronin) or brand-new ones (The Immortal Iron Fist), and interviews with legends like Guy Davis are just a few of the comic-related subjects expounded upon in each brilliant issue.
