Somebody’s got to utilize the quantum bands to protect the universe, so when Wendell Vaughn—aka Quasar—falls in the Annihilation War, Phyla-Vell (daughter of Captain Marvel) endeavors to carry on his legacy. Easier said than done, of course, with galactic civilizations having crumbled and millions in need of aid, particularly with yet another war brewing. Job 1 for the new Quasar and her lover, Moondragon, is to answer the call of a strange voice that tells her to find the “savior” of the fallen Kree Empire, all while eluding the conquering Phalanx and their various thralls—including the Super-Adaptoid.

Sci-fi action, romance, and mystery: This mini-series has all those things, while also being a part of the larger Annihilation: Conquest crossover. The prolific Christos Gage writes it while Mike Lilly and Bob Almond draw it.
