Blood Psi
(Moonface, 2007)
© 2007 Andy Winter and Keith Burns
Ruby is a modern day vampire. She and her group live (no pun intended), among humans, or breathers as they call us, with little publicity or public awareness of their presence. They don’t turn into bats or sleep in coffins. They draw the curtains to avoid sunlight. They are an invisible minority.
But when one of their number is stabbed in the heart with a wooden stake and beheaded, (some clichés are valid), the group realizes there is a hunter in the city and he must be stopped. Ruby is the first to discover the hunter’s identity but the full scope of her discovery turns her against her kind and the solution they demand.
Much like the underground vampire community in Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, this title focuses on the social and sexual aspects of a mysterious society.
