Gus Beezer is a child with an overactive imagination. A huge fan of super-heroes, he often daydreams that he is one— especially his idol Spider-Man. He is so obsessed with comic books that he re-imagines his bratty sister as the Lizard and his coach as Doctor Octopus, two of Spider-Man’s nastiest foes. What he doesn’t know is that his cousin Peter Parker actually is Spider-Man. This is Beezer’s introduction into the Marvel Universe, and through him, humor writer Gail Simone attempts to make a super-hero title more appealing to children.
