Forgotten Realms: The Halfling’s Gem

Adapting the concluding novel in R.A. Salvatore’s Icewind Dale trilogy (aka The Legend of Drizzt Book VI), this 3-issue series pits the Dark Elf against his arch-enemy, assassin Artemis Entreri, for what may be their final encounter.

Seeking to lure Drizzt into a deadly trap, Artemis, at the behest of Pasha Pook and the Thieves’ Guild, kidnapped Regis the Halfling, who stole a magical ruby from Pook. Artemis also stole the mystical panther Guenhwyvar, Drizzt’s longtime companion and friend. Naturally, Drizzt and the warrior Wulfgar are unwilling to abandon their friends, no matter the danger to themselves. Of course, before they are able to confront the assassin, they must face deadly pirates, cross scorching deserts, and battle a host of otherworldly creatures.

Meanwhile, their other companions, Cattie-brie and her adopted father Bruenor Battlehammer (previously presumed dead), continue their struggle to reclaim the Dwarf’s ancestral home, Mithral Hall.
