Jeff Wilson and Ted May provide the stories, and Ted May and Jason Robards provide the art for the short tales presented in Injury, giving readers two protagonists who feel alienated and under fire in harsh environments, a theme that connects the otherwise very different stories. The first offering is about high school politics, and a boy’s chance to brag to anyone who has ever crossed him when he’s able to buy his first joint. He’s far too obvious with his attention-getting stunts and is called into the principal’s office, where he’s given the vital choice between taking the harsher punishment or ratting out his source. The second story is a science-fiction tale of an android traveling in a neighborhood controlled by an anti-android street-gang, and unable to find any support or friendship because of what he is.
