Steve Niles’ self-destructive, perpetual loser Cal McDonald recovers just enough from a bout of heroin to take a job hunting the next incarnation of Satan on this earth—an adorable baby girl. Whether or not it works is up to McDonald to discover, but when the kid is conjured up on a burning altar in a five-minute pregnancy, one would assume she’s not just another one of Dark Horse’s lovable beast of the apocalypse. Which provokes the question: when’s McDonald going to meet Hellboy? Nick Stakal provides the appropriately splotchy, splashy art.
