Omega Chase

3rd World Studios’ second offering in the comic-book world, Omega Chase is an impressive and ambitious series about a man named Mack Baron, sheriff of Providence Fields, Texas in 1881. The thing about Mack is that he doesn’t remember how he got to be sheriff, or why he’s even in Texas. He knows lots of facts, though. He knows that Richard Nixon is elected president in the 1980s. He knows when the first air conditioner will be invented at the turn of the 20th century. He knows, somehow, that he was once an officer on a starship in the 24th century. But he can’t make sense of any of this knowledge.

Other comics may have focused on Mack’s existential crisis (which is certainly interesting on its own), but Omega Chase gives Mr. Baron more immediate things to deal with, like fighting off zombies from neighboring towns. It’s hard to guess where Omega Chase is headed as a series because there’s so much in play here—and thus, creators Keith Dallas and Julio Molina Muscara do an excellent job of offering up a tantalizing plot sure to fuel a myriad of stories.
