Transformers: Beast Wars: The Ascending

The sequel to IDW’s Beast Wars: The Gathering, The Ascending finds Maximal leader Razorclaw and his band of soldiers stranded on prehistoric Earth and battling against a now-leaderless Predacon pack. Both factions wish to return to Cybertron, but are unsure how to get the word out of their location (whereabouts and most importantly whenabouts) without altering Cybertronian history. That history is soon to be threatened, though, as defeated Predacon leader Magmatron, vanquished into the time-stream at the end of The Gathering, witnesses a crisis that could end Cybertron forever, a crisis whose name is familiar to all long-time Transformer fans: Unicron. Now Magmatron must somehow return from his “death” and enlist his former enemies in a battle to make sure there’s any reality left for him to conquer.
