Iron Man and Power Pack

This four-issue mini-series pairs one of the most technologically advanced super-heroes with a group of pre-pubescent kids. Iron Man, who has been at the center of some of the most far-reaching, dramatic events in the Marvel universe, (Secret Invasion, Illuminati, Civil War), may seem to be an unlikely character to co-star with the intentionally sentimental Power kids from the cult favorite, Power Pack. The characterization of Power Pack as average kids with superpowers is consistent with most of their portrayal in the five years of their series in the late 1980s, (ignoring later attempts to make them edgier and more adult). Iron Man, in this series, is the one whose depiction has been scaled back to a simpler, straightforward, less complicated character, more able to relate to a group of children. The point of this series is fun and adventure appropriate for all ages.
