The Replacement God

This is the story of a young man named Knute, who has been chosen as the Replacement God. Not only is this a lot to take in, it’s a politically touchy situation, as the Replacement God is prophesied to topple the kingdom. Thus King Ursus and his Political Advisor arrest Knute, but he managed to escape their dungeon. Along the way, Knute meets a girl named Anne and becomes smitten with her. For his part, Knute has been informed of the prophecy but does not believe that he is in fact the Replacement God.

The Replacement God is a comedic, black-and-white series created by Zander Cannon and published by Amaze Ink, a division of Slave Labor Graphics. Its creator, Zander Cannon, is also known for his work on the Tick spinoff series, Chainsaw Vigilante, from NEC Press.
