New York: The Big City (W.W. Norton)
(W.W. Norton, 2006)
™ and ©2006 The Estate of Will Eisner
From the Publisher:
Before the Lower East Side was cool, there was grit and grime of Avenue C, a world filled with street musicians, overflowing sewers, and peeping toms. In New York: The Big City, Will Eisner presents a series of vignettes built around the elements that make up a metropolis—the poetry of its buildings and people, its trash and treasures, all recalled in Eisner’s unforgettable style.
Born in New York in 1917, Will Eisner was the author of the legendary comic strip The Spirit. His fourteen graphic novels, three compilations, and his posthumous graphic history, The Plot, form the Norton Will Eisner Library. The comic industry’s top annual awards, “The Eisners,” are named in his honor.
