Now here’s an interesting premise: a solar flare fries half the earth, and severely damages the other side. Our hero Jake makes a living retrieving precious objects like the Mona Lisa from the wasteland Eastern hemisphere, a sort of Indiana Jones without the altruism. There are an awful lot of mutants in the zones he invades, considering how inhospitable the cities have become, but if you accept the conceit, it’s not a bad romp. And hey: mutant great white sharks are almost impossible to dislike.
