Red Cross worker Vera Michailov has had a rough life. Separated from her family as a young girl and raised as a gypsy, Vera longs to find some peace in her shattered soul. When she receives medical leave after a shocking incident in Africa, Vera uses the time to clear up the affairs of her recently deceased father. On her trip home, Vera discovers that she has a twin brother, Kolya, about whom she never knew. She instantly becomes obsessed with finding him to regain some sense of the family she never had. As she races over the globe, her quest turns deadly when she learns that Kolya is also the modern–day pirate known as El Niño. And searching for a wanted man leads Vera into more and more dangerous territory…
