The appeal of Wormwood is it’s inevitably the idiots at your local pub getting off their barstools just long enough to beat back Lovecraftian menaces with good humor of a variety summarized by the credits: “Created, written and vaguely drawn by Ben Templesmith.” The 30 Days of Night and Fell star is obviously enjoying what he does, and it translates into a fun ride for his audience. This time around, Cthuloid menaces from the moon and beyond invade this realm, and Templesmith effectively communicates the threat they represent, since everyone expects Wormwood to stop them, and he panics.
