Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters Classics

In the ‘80s, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a smash hit. This title furthers the notion that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, as four hamsters sent into space to investigate a mysterious, radioactive UFO save the world and are then raised to be martial arts experts by Himalayan monks. Their myriad adventures include giving a video arcade bully his comeuppance, tackling a career in the world of entertainment as professional wrestlers, and of course, battling evil. Each yarn is riddled with one-liners, sight gags, and slapstick from the hamsters, whose monikers—Jackie, Bruce, Clint, and Chuck—and attitudes are drawn from classic movie action heroes.

Written by creator Don Chin and drawn by Ty Templeton, the hamsters’ tales are published by Parody Press. If there’s not some sort of joke on virtually every panel, it’s not for lack of trying.
